Blooming in Obscurity

If you live in St. Louis, MO you are probably stuck inside due to the winter storm that decided to come through. While being inside, I considered the thought of being trapped and then I said, well, you are not truly trapped. I realize that I am stuck inside because I choose to be. Honestly, it is best and probably safe to stay in, but I realized I am not trapped in.

Being trapped means you have no way out. Have you considered that where you are is not a trap but a choice? There has to be a change in perspective. Consider where you are in life. Are you trapped or do you choose to stay in a prison whose doors have already been open? It is time for us to realize the power within. We are not created to live a life of stagnation.

A question I want to pose is where are you seeing the cycles? What part are you playing in staying in that cycle? Talk about self-awareness to start the year off.

If we don't address the things that are plaguing us, we will never be able to find a strategy to deal with it. Is it spiritual, natural, emotional, or mental? Where is your stuck point and how do you get past it? Sometimes it requires prayer. There are other times where we may just need discipline. But if you allow God in it, he will help you through it.

You can still bloom in the midst of what feels like obscurity. In the midst of what feels like a trap. First, you must analyze where you are and why you are where you are. Knowing that God has you there versus the alternative of you choosing to be there is a start. The flower isn't the first thing to bud, it's the roots. Even if you cannot see the bloom just yet, you should be growing deeper and wider.

Blooming begins with dealing with the inner man — changing your heart, perspective, and mindset. When you are able to get that right, you create strong roots and a foundation that lasts beyond a season and becomes a lifestyle.

Blooming in obscurity is the best place to start. We are creating fruit that will last. Let's BLOOM!
